About the event

Be a part of Sound Rivers’ Water Watch team!

Join your Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper and the Riverkeeping team for this in-person training where you’ll learn everything you need to know to be a part of the Sound Rivers Water Watch team. Learn how to collect scientific observations about water quality, flooding, erosion, habitat and more, and add your

expertise to a community of volunteers monitoring your waterways!

The Neuse and Tar-Pamlico watersheds cover a lot of land … and water — two rivers, 928,052 acres of estuary, 5,909 miles of streams and 21,423 acres of freshwater lakes across 12,210 square miles of North Carolina.

With your help, your Riverkeeping team can monitor and protect more stream miles in these watersheds, and build a community of volunteers who know their water-quality science!
