Playing with hammer dulcimers, tongue drums, harmoniums, violins, bells, singing bowls, cymbals, chimes, and gongs, Brief Being explore the overlapping realms of free improvisation, minimalism, acoustic drone, and sound healing. Vibration as contemplative practice, open space, meditation, grounding, medicine.

Justin and Nathan have been playing music for most of their lives, and improvising together, in various contexts, for over a decade. A performance by gong master Tatsuya Nakatani inspired them to begin exploring the world of gongs. Brief Being was born in 2022.
