Yin Yoga for Splits -

Mondays at 6:30-7:30 pm

Don't be scared of this name. This is a stretching and strengthening class that will open up your walking and help you feel refreshed at the end of it. This class opens with some strengthening moves but most of the practice is sitting or lying and doing bends to open up the front of the pelvis and inside of the thighs to keep our legs moving freely so we can move better in our everyday lives. These practices have measurable benefits for your balance as well as your central nervous system. They help you feel calmer, more confident, and able to handle pain better.  (Most people are flexible enough to do splits right now but our central nervous system does not allow it. It goes into alarm mode and stiffens us up, telling us it's so we don't hurt ourselves. By relaxing into a place, or just before it, and staying there, we allow our muscles to relax which allows our central nervous system to begin to feel reassured this is a safe place so you can relax more and that makes you open up more.) There are so many benefits in working toward splits, even if you never do a full split. Doing a split is not even the goal. Becoming strong and flexible enough to become comfortable in some of these poses, that is our goal. Releasing our fascia that's bound and limiting our range of motion is a goal. Learning to relax when we are uncomfortable, that is a goal. To be still, to breathe, and to explore inwardly, inside our bodies, to learn ourselves from the inside out, that's our goal. Come explore.

THE LANGUAGE OF ENERGY WORKSHOP

Transform Your Life

with Intuitive Teacher & Author - Deborah Steddom

Join us for an enlightening workshop dedicated to living in heart-centered consciousness, where we will explore the transformative power of love, compassion without attachment, and self-acceptance.  As humans, we are often conditioned to operate from a place of ego and fear; however, Deborah emphasizes the importance of relinquishing our agendas, the negative “I am…” statements, and embracing our truth and inherent power. This workshop invites participants to get to the core, and recognize their unique vibrational signatures and true self. By learning to identify and shift stuck energy, we will cultivate discernment and empower ourselves to release attachment and negate trauma/old patterns.

This workshop will help you gain valuable hands-on experiences in recognizing and consciously shifting your unique frequency into a vibration of openness and healing. Together, we will cultivate a supportive environment, empowering each other to become the energetic master we are meant to be, ultimately acknowledging that in knowing ourselves, we find true freedom and the ability to create our own reality.

  • Recognize and release energetic patterns that no longer serve you

  • Learn tools and techniques that deepen self-awareness

  • Enjoy yourself in a fun, open day of new experiences

Language of Energy

A Profound Sunday Event

September 7th at 2:00pm

Join us as we express ourselves on the drum and discuss things that are on our minds about ourselves and the world around us.

No drumming experience is needed, just an openness to expressing yourself in new ways. Loaner drums are available along with other percussion instruments.

The history of drumming is long and varied, with drums appearing in many ancient cultures and serving a variety of purposes:

  • Spiritual ceremonies: Drums were used in rituals to connect with the divine and infuse spiritual energy.

  • Communal gatherings: Drums were used to foster a sense of belonging and solidarity among tribe members.

  • Communication: Drums were used to convey messages and coordinate activities within and between communities.

All of these are needed today as much as they were needed in the past.

Supporting Members are free.

Others $10 at the door.

Additional donations are accepted to help cover costs

A Profound Sunday Event

September 14th 2pm-4pm

Healing isn’t just for times of great pain or strife. It is something that can be done to create feelings of peace, relaxation, and well-being every day. And, more importantly, everyone possesses the power to be their own healer. They only need to learn how to align with their higher self and tune into their energy to unlock their abilities. Reiki, a renowned ancient wellness practice with roots in Japan, uses soothing vibrations, usually generated from the hands, to release emotional blockages and relax the body. This proven and honored technique is a natural way to strengthen your immune system, lower stress levels, and relieve physical and emotional pain (and so much more). With expert guidance, anyone can tap into their inner healer and cultivate a Reiki practice that rejuvenates their mind, body, soul, spirit and beyond...

If you decide to join this amazing Reiki share, you can expect to experience a supportive, nurturing atmosphere where you can give and receive Reiki, connect with other practitioners, and deepen your understanding of this powerful healing modality. Whether you are new to Reiki or an experienced practitioner, a Reiki share can be an enriching and illuminating experience that helps to foster personal growth and community.

Self Care Saturday

September 20th 10am-6pm

In this hustle and bustle world we live in, we often get caught up in what we can do for others, forgetting to care for and nurture ourselves first. Hence, Self Care Saturday!

Please join Nikki Kornegay, Kelly Rye, Susanna Martin for a day of Reflexology, Reiki, and Biofield tuning. This day-long, immersive healing experience is tailored toward holistic healing, mindfulness, and self-guided exploration. Anyone seeking a refreshing shift in their over-all energy and vibration is encouraged to attend! Our practitioners for this event hail from different backgrounds, having honed their gifts in practice to help guide you back to yourself.

Nikki and Kelly will be unifying their special techniques to deliver a profound experience through four-hands healing with Tandem Reflexology & Reiki sessions. Susanna will be offering group and individual Biofield Tuning sessions.

These techniques connect the client with their own healing energy on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels, and are a wonderful way to implement personal wellness into one’s life.

Call and Responce Kirtan

Saturday, September 27th

7:00pm-8:30pm

A Kirtan with Ananda

We call ourselves Ananda which means bliss in Sanskrit.  We do a mix of traditional and non-traditional chants, some of which I have composed and Solay has composed, and some from other well-known kirtan folks.  Solay Howell is from Hawaii, now lives in Richmond, on ukulele and drums, Martha Williamson is the daughter of missionaries so spent a large part of her childhood  in southern Africa, young adulthood in Malaysia, later in Maine, now in Charlottesville, on drum, harmonium, violin. tongue drum, and me from Tarboro, now in Charlottesville, on keyboards, tongue drum, harmonium, violin.

Kirtan is a traditional Indian practice of group chanting and storytelling that involves calling out to the divine. The word "kirtan" comes from Sanskrit and means "to tell, recite, or praise". A kirtan is a call-and-response or antiphonal style song or chant, set to music, wherein multiple singers recite the names of a deity. You can sit in a chair or on a cushion on the floor. Dancing will be encouraged and contagious.

Come early and Tailgate to enjoy the grounds and the Solstice Evening, If coming from a distance, we allow free tent camping or rent one of our Glamping Tents. Come for 1 or 2 nights.
